Church Elders

Pastor Todd Chipman

Todd Chipman was reared in a Christian home but was not converted until his college days at the University of Nebraska.  Upon conversion, Todd sensed God’s call to ministry.  God developed Todd’s teaching gifts through completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska.

After teaching fifth grade for two years at Lincoln Christian School in Lincoln, Nebraska, Todd sensed a burden for pastoral ministry.  Todd served as an Associate Pastor for two years at Scottsbluff Berean Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  During this pastoral work, God burdened Todd for the need to have a better grasp of the Bible, ultimately leading Todd and his family to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.  In May of 2005 Todd graduated with the M-Div and Master of Arts in Biblical Languages.

Pastor Todd now serves as Pastor of Discipleship at The Master's Community Church.  Todd has led the elders in developing leadership for each area of our ministry so that we can all use our spiritual gifts and experience the joys of building the Church. Pastor Todd places a high value on service in the church, noting that the New Testament Church glorifies God, as each member is involved in serving God (Ephesians 4: 11-16).  As well as Pastoral leadership at The Master’s Community Church, Todd teaches Rhetoric at Faith Christian Academy in North Kansas City.

Pastor Todd is married to Julie and they have five children-Josiah, Anna, Sarah, Grace and Chesed. The Chipman's homeschool, enjoy reading, following Kansas City sports teams and summer vacations in the Rocky Mountains.

Pastor Adam Anderson

Pastor Adam is a charter member of the Masters Community Church. He is a musician and serves in leading our musical worship. Adam completed his pastoral internship in the fall of 2002 and was ordained at that time. By God’s providence, Adam is now also leading the prayer ministry at the MCC.

Pastor Adam’s desire is to see others grow in Christ and to be captivated by the overwhelming beauty and grace of God. Thus, Adam’s ministry is aimed at glorifying Christ through prayer, teaching and musical worship. Adam works within the church to facilitate growth in fellowship with God and to see His hand at work in every part of life. (1Cor 10:31; Eph 5:19-20; 1Thess 5:17)

Pastor Adam occasionally ministers to our congregation through preaching and often teaches during our "Equipping Hour". He regularly teaches our children in the young children’s Master’s Kids class and leads one of our home bible study groups (Master’s Community Groups) each week as well as other events and ministry opportunities through the calendar year.

Adam came to Christ at the age of 22. He met Julia in college while studying music. He and Julia were married in 1995 and have two boys, Jaden and Ethan. Adam’s interests include theology, apologetics/comparative religions, Church history, instrumental music, golf, and carpentry. Adam seeks to continue his education, and is looking forward to God’s blessing in the growth of MCC.

Ministry Leaders

Brandon Yates - Fellowship Ministry Leader

Brandon Yates came to the Master's Community Church in 2001.  In search of a church that upheld and taught the sovereignty of God in all things, Brandon came to The MCC and joined soon after.  He has served as leader of the fellowship ministry since 2005.  The influence of expository preaching  has  had a major impact on Brandon's life and has helped him to see and understand the importance of the doctrine of fellowship to the church.  Brandon's passion is now to help build up and equip God's people in the area of Biblical fellowship through teaching, themcc.org, preaching, organizing fellowship meals, and other special events.  Brandon also leads the MCC Prison ministry, and preaches about once a month at the maximum security chapel at the Lansing Correctional Facility.

Brandon owns and operates a small electrical construction company here in the Kansas City area.  He is married to Julie.  They have a son - Carson, and a daughter Averie.  Apart from ministry, and being a husband and father, Brandon enjoys theology, golf, remodeling, computers, and business.
